(Scottsdale) U.S. Representative David Schweikert announced today that he has received the endorsement of RPAC, the political arm of the National Association of REALTORS®, following a unanimous recommendation and endorsement from the Arizona Association of REALTORS® RAPAC trustees.

“Over the last year and a half, Congressman Schweikert has distinguished himself as a leader in both the Arizona delegation and the freshman class for his work on the Financial Services Committee,” said Holly Mabery, president of the Arizona Association of REALTORS®.

“From finance to flood insurance to broader housing issues, Congressman Schweikert has shown himself to be a thoughtful member who understands the issues facing homeowners and the real estate market.”

“Before coming to Congress, Congressman Schweikert was the Maricopa County Treasurer and ran a real-estate investment firm. As Treasurer, Schweikert effectively addressed real estate issues facing property owners in the county while also earning $300 million on the county's investment portfolio in a very difficult economy.  His first-hand experience is the type of expertise we need on the Financial Services Committee and in Congress,” said Duane Washkowiak of Tempe, AZ.

“I am proud and grateful to have the support of such a large national organization and their members in Arizona’s Sixth Congressional District,” said David Schweikert. “Our REALTORS® are on the front-lines of re-starting the housing market in Arizona. Their support and our continued work together will ensure that this is a successful recovery.”

The National Association of REALTORS® was founded in 1908 and is the largest trade association in the United States with over 1.2 million members, 54 state associations (including Guam, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands) and more than 1,400 local associations.

FREEDOMWORKS PAC ENDORSES DAVID SCHWEIKERT FOR CONGRESS IN ARIZONA’S 6TH DISTRICT

Washington, DC- FreedomWorks PAC has announced its official endorsement of Representative David Schweikert for Congress in Arizona’s 6th District. Through in-depth one-on-one discussions with David Schweikert, a review of the candidates in the race, and input from FreedomWorks PAC members in the district, FreedomWorks PAC believes David Schweikert is the clear choice for limited-government voters looking to preserve economic freedom and rein in Washington’s out-of-control spending.

Redistricting has forced conservative Congressman Schweikert into a primary battle against fellow Congressman Ben Quayle. As a true grassroots organization, FreedomWorks PAC actively solicits and receives feedback from hundreds of local grassroots activists across the district, who overwhelmingly concluded that David Schweikert is their choice to represent them in Congress.

As a signer of the Contract from America, a list of policy priorities generated by hundreds of thousands of votes from tea party activists nationwide, Schweikert has pledged to fight for free markets, fiscal responsibility, and constitutionally limited government.

FreedomWorks PAC Executive Director Max Pappas commented, “Congressman Schweikert has emerged as a leader and legislative entrepreneur. His fellow members of Congress look to him for direction and he has been willing to stand on the frontlines of every major debate, from the debt crisis to fixing the economy. He bucked party leadership and voted for substantial spending cuts and pro-growth budgets. He has even authored a strong balanced budget amendment showing he is serious about fixing the nation’s financial problems.”

Pappas continued, “Both Congressmen have solid voting records but Schweikert brings intangible qualities to the table that make him the better choice for the district and for FreedomWorks PAC. We need more Congressmen like David Schweikert to hold the leaders of both parties accountable and to advocate for less government and more freedom.”

FreedomWorks PAC has endorsed for the U.S. House of Representatives: Sam Aanestad (CA-6), Andy Barr (KY-6), Ron Gould (AZ-4), Adam Hasner (FL-22), Kevin Cramer (ND-At Large), Steve King (IA-4), Jeff Landry (LA-3), Mia Love (UT-4),Thomas Massie (KY-4), Wright McLeod (GA-12), Keith Rothfus (PA-12th) Ann Wagner (MO-2), Jackie Walorski (IN-2), and Martha Zoller (GA-9).
